What would you change about the world?
We would like people to be more optimistic; to worry and stress less and to stop overcomplicating things. Just smile, live and enjoy your life! A smile is such an easy thing and makes such a big difference about how you live your life and how people threat you.

That it’s so easy accessible to move yourself around the world and meet people with different backgrounds these days.

If life would end in 7 days, what would you do with your time left?

It might sound corny, but I will never forget the first date I had with my boyfriend.

Something you regret wearing when you were younger?
Uhm, everything? Hahaha there is so much I look back at and I wonder why I did that, but then again I always wore what I really liked and not to fit in. The thing I mostly don’t understand was my “prom” dress. It was a leopard print long dress, and I was so skinny, the dress looked way too big.

Loose people I love.

Tara Aghdashloo

With her sense of humour and genius approach to life, you don’t really have a choice but to love Tara. Being a fan of empathy, doing things and not complaining, this combination has made her very successful in her carrier as a writer, filmmaker and presenter. Tara started high school as a freshly landed Iranian immigrant in Canada, where she also finished her studies in journalism before she moved to London in 2011 and finished her MA at SOAS University.

Don’t be surprised when you see Tara’s work appear in both Persian and English, this multinational spirit doesn’t lose track of her roots!

Most important thing in your life?
Honesty.

Most favourite food dish?
I can have sashimi all day everyday, but a hearty Persian dish when I want to be decadent.

Pets?
The random visits from my neighbourhood black cat who is apparently called Dorothy but I’ve named her Gholam. Every other day though, it’s my husband.

Morning kisses interrupted by snoozes. And then, if I’m not working out or doing yoga, I’m making coffee to start work.

Thing that annoys you most?
Chewing loudly.

Be stuck in a bar with a bunch of blind-drunk City guys. But also, I like staying in too much.

Everything, but I’d start with nationalism and racism.

What do you love about the world?
Kindness of strangers. Invasion of vine leaves on old walls. The silent gravity of mountains. People who try.

If life would end in 7 days, what would you do with your time left?
Put everyone I love on a plane and camp out by a lake somewhere near the mountains. (Possibly provide psychedelics as well)

If you could tell your younger self something, it would be?
Chill, it’s all changing anyway.

Dream job as a child?
Writer.

Something you’ll never forget?
Siesta time at my grandparents, when I would sneak out to the garden and play quietly, listening to birds chirp.

Something you don’t understand you wore as a child?
As a child I was pretty on point, it’s the spaghetti-strap tops of my teens that I resent. And the thin eyebrows, Augh.

Biggest icon?
I will add an s to make that plural, and say Foroogh Farrokhzad, Elena Ferrante, Chantal Akerman, Agnes Verda, Joan Didion, Abbas Kiarostami, Margaret Atwood, Hilma Af Klint, Jean-Luc Godard, Luis Bonuel, Aydin Aghdashloo. Sorry, I know.

Make a feature film, publish a book, go to space.

Afraid to?
Not be able to do the above.
